TEXAS 21 POLICY AND PROCEDURES WITH CRAZY 8 PROPOSITION
BET
Purpose
To ensure compliance with rules set forth by the Table Games
Director for the game Texas 21.
Policy
Every Manager and Dealer will be informed of the acceptable
Policy and Procedures for Texas 21. These P+P's will insure
proper game protection as well as increasing the number of
hands per hour dealt where by increasing departmental revenue.
Procedures
All house rules apply.
The Game is opened according to existing house rules using
four or six decks with a continuous shuffle machine if possible.
Once the opening procedures have been completed (rack verified,
cards inspected and shuffled), the dealer will then burn one
card face down and place that card face down in the rack.
The game is now ready to be dealt. Note: When a continuous
shuffle machine is used with Crazy 8's, all cards including
burn card are immediately placed back into shuffle machine
after each completed round. When a game is dealt from a shoe,
an additional cut card may be introduced and placed two or
three decks back from the front of the shoe, which would be
used as a benchmark to remind dealers and inform players that
the optional Crazy 8 proposition bet may no longer be played.
This will minimize the range of the true count frequency and
therefore safeguard the integrity of the game. Stanley Ko,
who is an expert in the field of casino odds, feels that this
step is not necessary. It is up to the casino.
Players will place their bets in the Blackjack circle directly
in front of their playing position. Players have an option
to place a proposition wager in either CRAZY 8 Betting Circle
1 or Betting Circle 2 or both. These two Betting Circles are
located just above each player's Blackjack Betting Circle.
A CRAZY 8 wager may only be placed in conjunction with a TEXAS
21 Blackjack bet. The table limits for TEXAS 21 are set at
$5.00 to a maximum bet of the table limit. The minimum and
maximum bet will stay consistent with all current games unless
the TABLE GAMES DIRECTOR and the GAMING COMMISSION approve
different levels. The CRAZY 8 wager may only be bet in units
of $5.00 with a maximum set by the house. A player may bet
different amounts in each prop circle.
After bets are placed, the dealer will deal one card face
up in the community
hand toward the center of the layout and one card face up
for the dealer behind the players community card towards the
rack for the dealer. A second card is placed face up in the
community hand located to the dealers left of the players'
first community card and a second card for the dealer's hand
(face down under the up card.) The up cards are community
cards for the player. The one card down / one card up hand
are the house hand.
The players Crazy 8 Proposition wager, referred to as Crazy
8 Bet 1, is located to
the players left side above the players Blackjack betting
circle and the Crazy 8 Bet 2 is located to the players right
of the Crazy 8 bet 1 circle. The players Crazy 8 Bet 1 corresponds
to the players' first community card and the second Crazy
8 bet corresponds to the players' second community card that
is located to the players' right side.
If there are any CRAZY 8 bets, dealer will then take the losers
and pay the winners from dealer's right to left. Winning bets
will be paid and handed back to players along with their original
CRAZY 8 wager and set behind their Blackjack bet. (See Pay
Schedules).
Once the CRAZY 8 round is completed, the dealer will now continue
the Texas "21" game in accordance with the following
rules:
If the first two cards in the community hand total "11"
or less, the dealer will pause to allow players an opportunity
to "Double Down" on their original bet for the next
card. Since "11" and under is not a bustable hand,
the dealer will hit the community hand and this total applies
to all players.
Whenever the community hand totals "12" or greater,
is any splitable pair or a soft hand, the dealer must allow
each player to decide individually if they want to receive
additional cards, placed in front of their bet, which is added
to the amount of the community hand. These additional cards
only apply to the player receiving the hit. Every player is
allocated the same opportunity to improve his or her hand
or stay with the total of the community hand.
If the community hand is a "Blackjack", all players
are paid 3 to 2. If the dealer has an Ace showing and the
community cards are a "Blackjack" all players are
allowed the opportunity to take even money or take a chance
at winning 3 to 2. If both the house and community hands are
a "Blackjack" the hand is a push.
If the dealer has an Ace showing and the community hand is
not a "blackjack", the dealer will offer insurance
to all players. The dealer will then check the cards in the
peeker. If a "blackjack" is indicated, the dealer
will open up their hand to show all players that the hand
is indeed a "blackjack" and pay and take accordingly.
If no "blackjack" is indicated, the dealer will
take all insurance bets and continue the game in accordance
with the game rules.
All losing hands will have their cards stacked face up with
their losing bets posted on top of the cards. This prevents
past posting!
All hands are paid and taken from dealer's right in a counter
clockwise direction.
